I’m Cheryl Baillin, a freelance translator and proofreader of French, English, and Vietnamese, and a self-published author.
I was born in 1990 in France, in a Vietnamese family. From an early age, I took a great interest in languages and literature. I learnt French at school and Vietnamese at home with my parents, as well as the traditions and customs of both cultures.
Later on, I became passionate about British and American literature and decided to pursue a Master’s degree in English Studies. I graduated from Paris-Sorbonne University in 2012.
Because of my passion for reading and writing, as well as my multicultural background, working in the literary and translation field came as an obvious choice to me. I started working informally at first, mainly for charities and students, and became a full-time translator and proofreader in 2016. My first book was published in 2017 on Amazon Kindle.
I’m currently living in the Paris area, France. When I’m not obsessing over grammar and spelling, I like to travel around Asia, read Gothic novels, and practice Wing Chun Kung Fu.
